Baptisms

Recently, my two youngest siblings were baptized!  A very cool thing to be a part of!  NT decided he was going to be baptized on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011.  Elaina decided quite some time ago, that she wanted to be baptized on her birthday when it fell on Mother's day, which happened this year on her 14th birthday, May 8, 2011.

As a Christian, we get baptized to publicly confess that we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior.  He set the example and He commands it.  It symbolizes the washing away of our old, sinful self and rising again to life, putting on our new self.  It is an outward expression of an inward decision.

"We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." - Romans 6:4

"At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan." - Mark 1:9

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." - Matthew 28:19-20

The Impossible is Possible

It has been said that it is impossible to lick your elbow. Elaina proves that to be wrong and shows the impossible to be possible.

The Miller Blog

This boy I know, Ric Miller, is being deployed to Afghanistan as a Marine officer.
And when he gets back, he's marrying my sister and then he'll be my brother. Lucky boy.
Check out their blog: Miller Life. Hopefully, Julia and Ric can keep it updated.
Please keep them in your prayers! It's going to be quite the journey!

Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; He lifts His voice, the earth melts. The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come and see what the LORD has done, the desolations He has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
